Thermal power and steel
Coal crusher and mill parts for power stations and wear parts for the material-handling lines of steel plants.
A coal-fired station wears out its crushers and its mills; a steel plant wears out the crushers, chutes and spouts that handle its raw materials. Both need abrasion resistance where material slides and toughness where it strikes, specified part by part.
Coal handling
Hammer crushers size coal before the mills. Chutes guide it between conveyors. Parts take impact and abrasion from coal, shale and stone.
Coal grinding
Vertical bowl and roller mills and tube mills grind coal to fine powder for the boiler. Sliding abrasion dominates, so white irons last longest.

VRM rollers
- Fails by
- Profile wear across the face
- Usual grade
- High-chromium iron, Ni-Hard

Table liners
- Fails by
- Track wear under the rollers
- Usual grade
- High-chromium iron, Ni-Hard

Clamps
- Fails by
- Cracking under load
- Usual grade
- Carbon or low-alloy steel

Mill liners
- Fails by
- Lifter wear that flattens the profile
- Usual grade
- Cr-Mo steel, High-chromium iron, Ni-Hard
Steel plant material handling
Ore, coke and flux are crushed, conveyed and fed through chutes and spouts that wear by impact and sliding, sometimes while hot.

Hammers and beaters
- Fails by
- Wear at the striking head
- Usual grade
- Manganese steel, Cr-Mo steel
Feed chute liners
- Fails by
- Sliding abrasion
- Usual grade
- High-chromium iron, Ni-Hard, Cr-Mo steel, Manganese steel

Wheels and rollers
- Fails by
- Tread wear and flaking
- Usual grade
- Carbon or low-alloy steel
Why power and steel plants choose us
- Wear and heat in one plantAbrasion-resistant irons, tough steels and heat-resistant steels under one roof.
- Tested before it shipsChemistry and hardness reported for every heat, with NDT where specified.
- Ready for outagesPatterns kept on file and parts machined in-house to meet planned shutdowns.

A drawing, photographs of the worn part or just the equipment model: any of them is enough to start. Our metallurgists recommend the grade if you don’t know it.
